Go see a show before the world ends

Going to see Okkervil River and The New Pornographers this weekend. I have seen The New Pornographers once at last summer's Pitchfork Festival. They were good that evening...I can't tell if I overly loved them that night because I am not cool enough to like the other bands that preceded them. I have been looking forward to seeing Okkervil River play for a couple years now. Even though I dont love Stage Names (contrary to the critics) I am looking forward to the show. I hope they play a little of everything...
The rain seems to be approaching in its comically timed fashion. I am watching the radar and sending mind bullets so that the rain misses us. I don't want it to rain. I am tired of the rain.
It earthquaked this morning and I just thought our cat was shaking the bed. Weighing in at 23 pounds, shaking the bed with such force is not out of Moes capabilities. People are talking about it non stop today...instead of "hey how are you"...its "hey, did you feel the earthquake". Yeah I thought it was my cat. And then I am faced with the uncomfortable and unncessary courtesy laugh.
Make sure you go out tonight and buy a big rubber trash can. Fill it with flashlights and batteries and transister radios and protein bars and bottled water and lanterns and space ice cream and trail mix and hooded sweatshirts and turnicates and ace bandages and Bactene. Stay safe people...the earth is about to swallow itself.

Ok this is very bizarre but I had the exact same thought when the earthquake woke me up. I swore my cat was shaking the bed. Very strange since I assumed I was the only person on earth that would come up with such a ridiculous thought. Good to know I'm not alone. I also was laughed at quite a bit.
